A Versace Dream: Pitt Andreychev’s Journey from Child Artist to International Model

From sketching as a child to gracing the halls of the Versace Mansion, Pitt Andreychev’s journey is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance. L’Officiel Columbia sits down with the Bulgarian-born, New York-educated model to discuss his career, his personal style, and the unforgettable experience of shooting at one of Miami’s most iconic locations.

Pitt Andreychev’s story isn’t one of accidental discovery; it’s a narrative woven with threads of artistic expression from a young age. His childhood fascination with drawing, painting, and styling his own clothes laid the foundation for a career deeply rooted in the world of fashion. From his first magazine cover in 2021 to his recent photoshoot at the Versace Mansion in Miami, Andreychev’s trajectory has been marked by consistent dedication and a unique personal style.

Andreychev’s passion for fashion isn’t merely a profession; it’s an intrinsic part of his being. “You don’t study fashion,” he explains, “it’s an art that comes from within.” This innate understanding, coupled with his formal education in Fashion Business Management at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, has allowed him to navigate the industry with a distinct perspective. He embraces the transformative nature of modeling, relishing the opportunity to become a “chameleon” for each project, showcasing diverse looks while maintaining his own signature.

His personal style has evolved over time, shifting from a more extravagant aesthetic to a refined “old money style”—elegant, clean, and effortlessly stylish. While acknowledging the influence of celebrities and renowned designers, Andreychev emphasizes his ability to internalize these influences and translate them into his own unique expression.

The Versace Mansion, a symbol of luxury and a site steeped in history, provided the backdrop for a truly memorable photoshoot. Andreychev, having visited the location previously, understood the significance of obtaining official permission for a professional shoot. The experience was profound, allowing him to connect with the legacy of Gianni Versace and become a part of the mansion’s rich history. One particularly striking image, captured at sunrise on Versace’s bathroom balcony, graces the cover of this issue.

The shoot itself was a collaborative effort, with Andreychev working alongside Colombian photographer Gato River. The shared cultural connection fostered a comfortable and productive atmosphere, allowing for a seamless creative process. Every look, from vintage Versace pieces to the latest Spring/Summer 2024 collection, was captured with precision and artistry.

For Andreychev, each photoshoot is a unique opportunity to pour his energy, love, and ambition into his work. The Versace Mansion shoot, however, carries a particular weight due to the iconic status of the location and its connection to fashion history. He recognizes the impact of such high-profile projects on his career and the wider fashion industry.

Andreychev believes Miami’s fashion scene is distinct, reflecting the city’s vibrant and colorful character. Versace’s bold prints and designs find a natural home in Miami, creating a synergy between the brand and the city’s aesthetic.

Looking ahead, Andreychev is focused on achieving his goals and realizing his dreams. One such dream, the release of his fashion book titled “АЗ” (meaning “ME”) in February 2025, is on the horizon. He envisions a future that includes family, children, and the establishment of his own fashion brand.

The Interview:

1. Can you tell us about your journey in the modeling industry and the key moments that have shaped your career?

My journey started as soon as I could read and write. I was a child when I wanted to draw and paint and from that moment I knew I was a child who was into art and different things. I always wanted to style my clothes before I went to school and I knew I was born to be into fashion. My first magazine cover I did was in 2021 and from that moment my career started to grow. I realize that the more I do, the more projects and opportunities I get. The right keys are to be consistent and never give up. Believe in yourself and your success and always try to go outside the box. be different and have your own style and signature.

2. What motivated you to become a model, and what do you enjoy most about this profession?

As I mentioned in my previous question, fashion has been inside me since I can remember. I have always loved it. You don’t study fashion, it’s an art that comes from within, even though my bachelor’s degree is in “ Fashion Business Management “ graduated in Fashion Institute of Technoloy in New York City . I have always loved art and fashion. What I liked most was seeing myself as a chameleon depending on the project I am working on. It is amazing how you see the same person with completely different looks for different projects. And with that said, I am preparing a Fashion Book that I am releasing at the end of February 2025 back in my country Bulgaria , where people will see me so different, with different looks and fashion, but in each look you see my signature!

3. How would you describe your personal style as a model? What influences your fashion choices?

My personal style has changed a lot over the years. When I was younger I liked a more extravagant style, over time I learned that this style should be more for photo shoots, for campaigns, music videos, films and so on. These days I like more of an “old money style”, very elegant, clean and stylish at the same time. Of course, we are all influenced by celebrities, big designer names and brands, obviously the people who rule fashion. I can’t give exact names because I always know when I see something in my head how I want to wear and style It !

4. Working in such glamorous locations, what were your first impressions when you arrived at the Versace mansion in Miami?

I have been to the Versace Mansion before. It is no secret that this place is now a hotel and restaurant, but taking a professional photo is impossible without permission and a license from their team. Getting the license was not an easy task, but it is a fact and here are some of the photos from the shoot exclusively for your magazine. The rest will come out with my book in February’ 25 ! It was an unforgettable moment, knowing the story behind the crime of Gianni Versace and his life and the opportunity to feel a bit and be a part of Gianni’s life when he was alive. The cover photo was taken at 6 am in natural light from the beautiful sunrise on Gianni Versace’s bathroom balcony!

5. Can you share some behind-the-scenes experiences from the photoshoot at the Versace mansion? Any memorable moments?

My team and I arrived the night before. I did a vlog showing my outfits and getting everything ready before the shoot. I wanted to mention that all the looks were from the Versace Collection from vintage to this recent spring summer 2024 collection. I had to be early to shoot because we had shooting hours from 6am to 12pm since the hotel and restaurant were open for visitors after that. My photographer made me feel so comfortable. His name is Gato River, who is also Colombian. I have been to Colombia several times and I really love the culture and the people because I feel like the culture is very close to us. So nice, welcoming people and a little dramatic like how “ Bulgarians “ are and I like that hahaha…! so with that said it is very important to feel comfortable when working with your team. Every fashion look, every set was fun and memorable that day l, because I was with the right team and the right people at the right place.

6. How does a high-profile photoshoot like this impact your approach to modeling?

Every shoot is a special one for me. I put so much , energy, love and ambitions to each one to get the best of it. of course impact the fashion industry because ” Versace” is a name and when you shoot in his house with a big story behind , there is already a sing because not everyone is able to shoot out there!

7. What do you think sets the Miami fashion scene apart from other major cities?

Versace is very Miami. People out there love prints and colors. I realized that every fashion city has its own style and I think Versace fits perfectly and very much in Miami because the city itself is very colorful and different from others even in the US. As soon as you get to Miami, you feel like you’re not in the US, it brings that tropical vibe right away!

8. Do you have a favorite project or fashion campaign that you’ve worked on so far? Why does it resonate with you?

Every project I take on is special to me because I put all my love into it, so I can’t say one or the other. The one that is closest to my heart is coming in February because it is the first big project that is about me, my style and my life, so it is very touching and exciting. So stay tuned!

9. How do you prepare mentally and physically for a big photoshoot, especially in a luxurious setting?

It depends on the photoshoot. I always like to take care of myself, so 2 days before a photoshoot I take these water pills that help you not retain water, which I don’t recommend, but before the shoot they are very good, but you have to drink a lot of water. On the day of the shoot I feel great. I do some skin routine and a nice haircut, a good workout and I’m ready to go. Mentally there’s always excitement the night before the shoot, but as soon as I get on set, I don’t want to stop. I just love what I do and I’m blessed to be able to do what I really love!

10. What advice would you give to aspiring models trying to break into the industry today?

As cliché as it sounds, you have to know who you are and who you want to be. Believe in yourself, never give up no matter how hard it is and be different, unique, with your own style and ideas. Be ambitious and make sure you love what you do and when you take all my advice, trust me, it will all pay off one day, just be patient.

11. Are there any particular designers or brands you dream of collaborating with in the future?

I’m open to anything and everyone. It doesn’t have to be a huge name. I’m open to helping because a lot of big brands have reached out to me and given me opportunities when I was a nobody. I would say it again, even if it’s not my brand or style, when I present my point of view and add my signature I fall in love with the project.

12. How do you envision your career evolving over the next few years, and what projects are you currently working on?

Every year I have goals and dreams that I want to achieve. One of them was to be part of your magazine and today, you guys interviewing me, is a dream come true. My Christmas present this year because this was one of my goals for this year that I made a reality. For the next year I have other dreams, bigger and bigger. One of my dreams is almost a reality and will come true on February 25, 2025, my fashion book called “АЗ”, which means “ ME “

I see myself in the next few years with a family, with one or two children and a fashion brand behind.

The most important thing is that we all stay healthy, blessed and happy in the next 2025 and never forget to read L’Officiel…!

Pitt Andreychev’s journey is an inspiring example of how passion, dedication, and a strong sense of self can pave the way for success in the competitive world of fashion. His experience at the Versace Mansion is not just a highlight in his career; it’s a symbol of his unwavering commitment to his craft. As he looks towards the future, with his book release and aspirations of building a fashion brand, one thing is clear: Pitt Andreychev is a force to be reckoned with, and his story is only just beginning. We eagerly anticipate the next chapter in his remarkable journey.
